Costa Rica impresses with its luscious tropical landscape and its friendly people. Comparatively small in size, the region boasts extraordinary biodiversity. Close to 830 bird species are found here, more than in the United States and Canada combined, along with ten percent of the world’s known butterflies and 8,000 flowering plants, 15 % of which are orchids. Uniquely, a variety of wildlife here can be observed and photographed up close without disturbing them.
Led by award-winning nature photographer Sasha Vasiljev, this tour will take you to one of the most photogenic places in Central America - Costa Rica. From its lowland rainforest on the Pacific coast to the cloud forest of the Talamanca Mountains and Coto Brus, and its dramatic volcanoes, this country bedazzles with the many opportunities to capture incredible landscapes and abundant wildlife: resplendent quetzal, hummingbirds and toucans, four species of monkeys, two species of sloths, poison dart frogs; not to mention, remarkable tropical vegetation, including numerous orchids.
Sasha will work with you to develop your nature photography skills through informal teaching sessions and hands-on field shooting, as well as sharing his tips and secrets for the successful rainforest photography. You will be sure to amass an exceptional portfolio from this unforgettable photo expedition.
Throughout the trip you will stay at boutique lodges and hotels chosen for their charm, comfort, services and good food. In addition, we have selected lodges that possess secondary and primary forests on their property, ensuring their conservation.
